Our experience has led us to identify the following needs:
- There is often a lack of provision in schools for pupils to explore three-dimensional visual arts activities such as making sculpture. Primary aged children would benefit from increased time, space and materials to enjoy an in-depth, quality experience;
- Parents and grandparents often lack the time, direction and expertise needed to support their children’s creativity, AND to develop their own creativity. In particular, support given to helping families identify appropriate learning styles would be beneficial.
- Providers of Family Learning would welcome new inspiration, ideas and guidance to widen their creative offering.
AccessArt Family aims to meet these needs through a grassroots programme of visual arts workshops, the collaborative creation of online family learning resources, and the AccessArt Family Learning Network.
