The Immersive Learning Project Report is a MUST read for anyone working with creative teenagers and anyone interested in:

  • Discovering teenagers' passion and capacity for creativity;
  • Where and when teenage learning happens best; the power of the isolated experience;
  • Approaches to kinaesthetic teaching and learning;
  • How computers, digital cameras and microphones get juxtaposed with cellotape, plaster and cardboard;
  • How we can build a bridge between the creative adult and creative child, and create appropriate mentor relationships;
  • Using the web to share learning experiences.

This report describes the Immersive Learning Project’s objectives, structure, participants, activities and outcomes.

What is the Immersive Learning Project?

The project aimed to understand and unleash the creative potential of teenagers and to understand where and when learning happens best. Over three years AccessArt worked with teenagers, schools and creative professionals creating a platform for creative exploration of the teenagers own starting points.

The resultant ‘Immersive Learning Space’ can be seen via the AccessArt website. Click the Immersive Learning Space, and see a wealth of content gathered, created and inspired by individuals with a joint passion for creativity and learning. Throughout the space the voice of the teenagers is central, and provides a jumping off point through which viewers might begin their own creative journey. Jump in and be inspired…
