As an artist educator I work with all age groups from primary school
children to elderly people. I am passionate about creative learning
and using my skills as an artist to facilitate experimentation and
development particularly with vulnerable groups.
Level of Experience as an Artist Educator: Very Experienced (More than 10 years working in art education)
As an Arts Award Advisor I have lead several projects, supporting many
children and young people in achieving their Explore, Bronze or Silver
Arts Award. I was lead artist on the Alternative Education Programme
at Orleans House Gallery working with young people with behavior,
emotional and social development (BESD) needs.
Experienced Workshop Leader
I have led numerous projects with SEN groups, some of which were
specifically working on enterprise projects such as with KS4 students
at Phoenix Secondary School in Bow. A similar project was with
Transitions Group (age 18+) at Orleans House Gallery where we made
lampshades & had a selection of preliminary images printed onto
bags, cushions etc.
Interest in Printmaking
Printmaking is my specialist area and one I use quite frequently in
educational projects. Bookmaking is another process I use in my own
practice. I delivered a family project in ACAVA ‘s Barham Park
studio’s, during which each family produced a book of prints. They
each contributed to a group book that I made.
