Which Artists: Abigail Winter

By Abigail Winter

In this post, recent Cambridge School of Art Graduate and Artist Abigail Winter shares her passion for Paper Cut Illustration. This post explores typography and collage, coming together to form a 3 Dimensional image. This project also demonstrates how art can be used to spread important social and environmental messages. This post could be of interest to teenagers looking for ways to express social and environmental messages through their work, or could be a great way to begin to introduce 3D elements into work.

What We Like About This Resource….

“Rachel has contributed some great resources to AccessArt and we really like how this idea captures the concept of ‘returning’ – something that school children will have processed over the past year. We love how this activity encourages hands to feel and move paint about freely – to experience its qualities and tactile nature. You could try this in your setting using different migratory birds such as Ospreys or Swifts as inspiration, with the children looking at images of these birds before trying some observational drawing.” – Rachel, AccessArt.
