1000 Dogs Project by Kathryn Sjogren

Many thanks to Kathryn Sjogren for sharing her process below.

My 1000 Dogs Project is an ongoing effort to create 1000 miniature portraits of dogs in the rescue system. The goal is to promote awareness and discourage use of breeders when pure breeds are already available in the system. The number of dogs in need of adoption is staggering, and my own experience rescuing a greyhound has placed this issue close to my heart.

This project can be repurposed for students and used to teach them about the rescue system at the same time as teaching them a few mixed media techniques.
