Artist and educator Sara Dudman shares examples, inspiration and support for working creatively from video to capture movement and a sense of place in painting.

This project was shared with AccessArt as part of the 40 Artist Educator Project, funded by Arts Council England, aiming to highlight and celebrate artist-led teaching and facilitation.

Detached and Timeless Painting Workshop by Sara Dudman

A practical painting, drawing and art historical day for art teachers and young people aged 12-17 was held at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum (RAMM) in Exeter. Teachers and students working side-by-side enjoying the same learning experience created a fantastic dynamic; sharing and exchanging knowledge, skills, ideas and interpretation. First-hand engagement with the artworks was the starting point for really practical and conceptual responses in paint and charcoal.
