This week at our Drawing Workshop for ages 6 to 10 we worked from photos of flies, spiders, ants, crane flies, beetles and dragon flies. If it had been summer, we could have collected specimens which had died, but being winter we used images as our inspiration, which actually worked really well.

This resource describes how to use graphite and oil pastel to explore drawing minibeasts. Ideal lesson plan for introducing new drawing materials to primary aged children.
