What do you see? What captures your interest? What do you respond to?
Action: Thinking, grounding, hesitating…
Reaching out and Collect: Be a Magpie! “I like I borrow!”
Action: Gather, take snippets, sketch, borrow from the world: photographs and printed imagery, word (poetry, prose, quotes etc), references, fabric, paper, stuff, other artwork
Explore and Develop: “I’m beginning to feed myself and become a producer!”
Begin to own the things you have “borrowed” and let something emerge which is yours
Action: All sketchbook activities
Recognise that this is a cyclical process:
From the world, through the child, into the sketchbook, explore, and back out into the world
