Studio Time – Time to Develop Ideas and Processes

By Sheila Ceccarelli

Teenagers at AccessArts' Experimental Drawing Class needed a break from the usual structured drawing class and drawing exercises. They wanted to carry on developing ideas and processes from the week before Drawing Sweets and How to texture with Pencil and Graphite.

Students had really enjoyed drawing sweets last week and developing texture with pencil and graphite and all had asked if they could take their work further this week.

Some wanted to carry on with detailed drawing, some to expand and draw on a larger scale and some to experiment with collage and working into their drawings with scissors and tearing.

Hannah tore up her sweet and experimented with collage

Interestingly all the work got bigger and teenagers experimented with scale, colour, composition and collage. Definitely not a wasted week!
