The Sculpture Chain was originally devised by Cambridge Sculpture Workshops as a sculpture workshops for schools and as a way of creating an energy and enthusiasm for making sculpture amongst primary age children in rural Fenland schools in Cambridgeshire. The Sculpture Chain took ideas and processes from contemporary sculpture into rural communities on a practical level, exposing children to new experiences and ways of thinking. The Sculpture Chain is very much a collaborative approach to sculpture – but still allows pupils to work individually on their own creations.
