Using Monoprinting and Sketchbooks to Explore GCSE English Literature Poetry

By Sheila Ceccarelli

I'd spent the day collecting AccessArt posts which support Literacy and in the back of my mind was thinking of my teenage students and their current GCSE revision pressures.

With the new curriculum, teenagers are required not only to analyse, but also memorise set texts for GCSE English Literature.

In looking at past posts, it occurred to me that I could run a session for teenagers exploring how a hands on creative activities might engage students in their revision, and how monoprinting and sketchbook processes might aid a personal connection to the poetry text.
