Drawing with Tape on Walls with Rebecca Hoyes

Saturday was THE most rainy day of July 2011. In the AccessArt Festival of Making marquee, textile artist  Rebecca Hoyes was going to run a paper flower making workshop, but the marquee leaked and the whole place was sodden. So Rebecca thought on her feet, and instead we taped directly onto the marquee walls to make the most amazing taped drawing. Becky started out with the structure and then despite the rain we had a good number of children and families turn out to add their bits! It was fantastic, inspiring and beautiful. We used black gaffe tape and black electrical tape – the contrast between thick and thin lines worked well.
