Collaging with Wax Crayon Rubbings

In this activity, children will explore a range of different textures found in nature and around the building through wax crayon rubbings. This resource is aimed at EYFS and SEND, helping them to explore the world around them in new and exciting ways. Pupils will go on to create a collage from their rubbings, promoting skills such as mark-making and dexterity, as well as nurturing their curiosity about textures and surfaces in the world.

“I love this resource because I can picture the energy in the classroom whilst students enjoy the process of mark-making using their feet. Creating drawings with parts of the body other than hands can be really freeing; students will hopefully look at their drawings in a less critical way, with the emphasis of the activity being more about the process than the outcome.
