Exploring Materials: Clay and Water

Sheila Ceccarelli asked teenagers at AccessArt’s Experimental Drawing Class, when the last time was that they had played with clay?

Sheila wanted her students to have a chance to explore and PLAY with clay encouraging them to make a tactile investigation of the matter, with no end result intended or prescribed.

Sheila introduced the session showing images of experimental clay work, including Antony Gormley’s ‘Field’ installations and work in the V&A Design Lab led by artist Phoebe Cummings.
