Sensory Sculpture inspired by Barbara Hepworth

By Alison Dunne.

In this resource of six one-hour-long sessions, teacher Alison Dunne talks through a 6-week/half-term project inspired by the work of sculptor Barbara Hepworth. The project invites children to think deeply about the sensory and tactile nature of making sculpture, and how we can use natural forms and materials to explore this type of making. This activity is broken down into 3 stages explored over 6 weeks, starting with research, followed by exploratory drawing and then making, using a range of materials and structural elements.
