2025

15th May – Artist Educator Spotlight

Jake Spicer shares his journey from setting up Draw Brighton and co-founding Mawddach Residency to the conversion of a Primary School into a Tiny Art School

12th May – AccessArt Art Week 2025 – Flourish!

In this session recording, we introduced AccessArt Art Week 2025: Flourish!, a programme of resources curated to help you run an art week in your school or setting. We shared lots of tips to help with your preparations and answered any questions.

6th May – AccessArt and International Schools

This session recording is aimed at those based in international settings, such as international schools or home schooling, in which we explored what AccessArt can offer the communities represented worldwide.

19th March – Panel Event: Spaces and Skills to Nurture Creative Thought and Action

The session aims to spark conversation between the different steps of the educational ladder and to find common ground and shared solutions between educational sectors.

12th February – The Tiny Art School Movement: Spotlight

In this session,  we are joined by artist educators running their own tiny art schools, who share their inclusive and diverse offer to the art education community and their journey towards achieving this.

2024

4th December – Improving Outcomes in Drawing

In this session, which focuses on drawing, we share observations and experiences gathered over the years to help you understand the importance of materials, methods and approaches.

18th November – Ten Minutes, Five Times a Week

In this session, Paula and Rachel demonstrate a simple set of drawing exercises designed to widen understanding of drawing and give non-specialist teachers the skills to facilitate an exploration of drawing with confidence.

21st October – In The Studio: Drama and Art with David Allen

In this In The Studio session, we are joined by David Allen, Associate Professor in Learning and Teaching at The University of Hertfordshire, who takes us through his collection of resources, connecting drama and art.

25th September – In The Studio: Observational and Experimental Drawing with Feathers and Shells

This practical session focuses on observational and experimental drawing exercises using feathers as the subject matter.

16th September – Pathway for Year 3 & 4: Gestural Drawing with Charcoal Pathway

As part of our pathway support sessions the AccessArt team takes you through the Gestural Drawing with Charcoal pathway.

9th September – The AccessArt Primary Art Curriculum Celebration

The AccessArt team takes you through the main features of the scheme. Guest speaker Sarah Mackenzie from a Primary School in Cornwall shares her experience of using the curriculum.

21st May – Preparing To Use The AccessArt Primary Art Curriculum

Find out how you might introduce AccessArt to staff and transition from your existing scheme or plan.

14th May – Creating School Exhibitions & Displays 

This session explores how you might think creatively to create an exhibition.
