Learning Through Making: A Partnership Between the Henry Moore Foundation & AccessArt

The Henry Moore Foundation and AccessArt are pleased to announce a partnership grounded in our shared belief in the importance of hands-on exploration as a catalyst for learning, and a commitment to inclusivity and opportunity for all in art education.  

At the heart of the partnership will be the creation of the Learning Through Making Educator Network, bringing teachers of key stages 1, 2, 3, 4 together each term in the Foundation’s studios at Perry Green. 

Co-led by AccessArt and the Learning and Engagement team at HMF, these sessions will provide an inspiring opportunity for educators to connect, share practice, and develop approaches which can be taken back to the classroom. 

The first “get to know each other” session will take place in November 2026 (more details to follow). 

Alongside this, in Spring 2027, the Learning Through Making partnership will host the Sketchbooks As Tools for Transformation: a symposium examining how sketchbooks can act as tools for transformation, supporting reflection, experimentation, personal expression, and creative growth for learners of all ages.  

Together, the Henry Moore Foundation and AccessArt aim to create meaningful opportunities for teachers and young people to engage deeply with art through making, conversation, and collaborative exploration.
