Artists and artist educators often find inspiration by visiting galleries and museums. They may identify an element within an artwork or object that becomes the starting point for a creative exploration, whether for their own practice or as the basis for a creative workshop.

In this post, we share tips to help non-specialist teachers, creative educators, and artists who are new to leading workshops recognise creative starting points in local exhibitions and develop them into engaging activities that either enrich a gallery visit or bring the gallery into the classroom.
