Great post! I would like to add an observation from doing these techniques with student; In order to get deeper black surfaces try rolling out less paint so that it does not have the visible texture 🙂 -What happens is that the paper picks up on the high points in the sticky ink and not the whole surface.

Hi Paulo… Thanks for your feedback! I would also add that a lot depends on the quality of the block ink you use – If you are on a budget Acrylic paint can be used but I find that it can get quite sloppy and if too thin the paper can stick to the ‘plate’ – I’ve found some cheaper school water based inks better than others – worth a bit of time experimenting with the different inks before trying it with a class! Thank you – please do share a couple of photos if you can! We always like to see what other students have produced. Best wishes, Sheila
