Creating Opportunity through Enrichment
In the DfE Arts and Culture Strand
The following AccessArt Enrichment Pathways have been created to help schools think about how they might use the DfE Enrichment Framework to create opportunity in their school.
They are designed to inspire and enable schools, acting as starting points, stepping stones or support structures, depending on each school’s confidence in delivering enrichment in arts and culture.
An opportunity to provide activities and experiences which value and nurture the Seven Capabilities identified in the CLA Capabilities Framework (agency, wellbeing, communication, empathy, collaboration, creativity and Interpretation). For pupils to learn in a more tacit, holistic way, free from pressure of assessment, and for teachers to broaden what we value and how we measure it, so that we encompass and embrace less “measurable” skills and capabilities such as enjoyment, ownership, joy…
An opportunity to celebrate and value journeys which centre around creative risk-taking, exploration, flow, learning through making, curiosity, resilience, independence and self-belief. An opportunity for pupils, teachers and parents to support and inspire each other, learning together through shared exploratory experience…
An opportunity for pupils to work with, and be inspired by, a variety of creative practitioners to make their own work…
