Exploring Materials: Clay

Clay Pots by Charlotte Puddephatt

Clay is a natural material that can be shaped and transformed. When wet, it’s soft and easy to mold, but it hardens when fired in a kiln or left to dry. For those without a kiln, air-dry clay offers a simple way to build an understanding of how clay behaves, and over time, how skills can build to create objects which transform.
