AccessArt is committed to helping educators and artists develop their passion for teaching art, and to better understand the AccessArt approach.
We do this through:
– A programme of Zoom sessions (below). The majority of our Zoom CPD sessions are offered free of charge to AccessArt members, whilst our collaborative CPD is offered at a reduced price for AccessArt members.
– Our in-person sessions at our studio in Cambridgeshire. Our in-person sessions at the AccessArt Lab provide an opportunity for participants to help test and create content for the AccessArt website, and at the same time to inspire new ways of thinking about visual arts pedagogy.
After the Curriculum and Assessment Review released their findings in the “Building a world-class curriculum for all” earlier this month, and the government released their response, we ask what might teachers expect in terms of the timescales and intentions for any revised curriculum for Art, Craft and Design Education?
This short, 30-minute session aims to provide teachers (all Key Stages) and SLT with a summary of the Curriculum & Assessment Review, and the government response, in relation to art, craft and design education. As a Subject Association for Art, we’ll share what we know so far, our thoughts and reflections, and answer any questions we can.
The session is free of charge for all AccessArt members and non-members.
The session will be recorded for those who can’t attend and available via the AccessArt website (www.accessart.org.uk) after the event.

In this session run by Susan Coles, we will answer the above questions by exploring how skills and creativity can be taught together in Key Stage 3 to foster exploration, cultural diversity, critical analysis, and personal expression.
