Exploring Materials: Cardboard

Cardboard Objects Altogether by Tobi Meuwissen

Cardboard is an accessible and versatile recycled material. With its strong, stiff, and lightweight qualities, it is perfect for construction, as well as for drawing or painting on, and can be found in almost every recycling bin. There are two common types of cardboard: paperboard and corrugated cardboard, each suited to different projects depending on the intended aims.

You might use cardboard to create maquettes, props, sculptures, signs, or viewfinders, or use it as a surface for mark-making.

All resources can be adapted to suit a variety of ages and settings.
