The Big Art School Draw 2012

Almost a hundred (98) teenagers filled the Ruskin Gallery at Cambridge School of Art, Anglia Ruskin University, on the morning of Saturday 20th October 2012, to register for ‘The Big Art School Draw’, where they were welcomed by Chris Owen the head, students and tutors from the School of Art and Paula Briggs, Sheila Ceccarelli and the AccessArt team. By 10 o’clock, The Ruskin Gallery was heaving with teenagers keenly waiting to get drawing!
One can only applaud the teenagers for their keenness, openness and enthusiasm to embrace the opportunity which was funded by the European Union (European Regional Development Fund and Cross-border cooperation program 2007-2013) as part of the VIVID project. It was fantastic to see the next generation of creative individuals at work!
Many thanks to VIVID and Cambridge School of Art at Anglia Ruskin University for collaborating with AccessArt to host such an inspiring day for all involved!
AccessArt artists and staff from Cambridge school of Art, led teenagers on six drawing workshops which ranged from Drawing with Light, Autobiographical Drawing, Drawing Space, Drawing the News, Drawings which Move and Drawing with Textiles which culminated in a photograph at the end of the day in the Ruskin gallery, of all 98 participants and their work.

Many thanks to Jan Ayton for so beautifully capturing the day.
