Exploring Materials: Cardboard

Cardboard Objects Altogether by Tobi Meuwissen

Cardboard is an accessible and versatile paper-based material. With strong, stiff and lightweight qualities, it’s perfect for constructing with, drawing or painting on, and can be found in just about every recycling bin. There are two popular types of cardboard: paperback and corrugated, which may be suited to different projects, depending on the aims.

You might use cardboard to create maquettes, props, sculptures, signs, or viewfinders, or use it as a surface for mark-making.

All resources can be adapted to suit a variety of ages and settings.
