The Sketchbook Journey Step 1: Buying & Making Sketchbooks

Sketchbooks

Many schools will choose to buy regular sketchbooks and these serve pupils well. Try to go for A3 or larger, and consider how you can encourage pupils to make these sketchbooks their own by changing their format.

If you do buy sketchbooks, try to make sure that the expense of the sketchbooks doesn’t stop you encouraging pupils to create momentum and fill pages. This is understandable – sketchbooks are an investment, but it is important that sketchbooks do not become too “precious”.

Consider making sketchbooks via the simple means below – these are cheap (often free) and can be used to expand sketchbook use.
