AccessArt has always valued the work that artist educators* do in raising the status of arts in schools and the community, sharing their unique skills and approaches. We have supported artist educators for many years by helping to develop facilitation skills and ideas, through our evolving collection of resources.
At this time we are particularly keen to further support artist educators in the UK and overseas – now more than ever we need to support each other. Recent months have shown to all of us the power of zoom to connect and create community, so with this in mind AccessArt is launching the AccessArt Artist Educator Network.
The Network will meet virtually 6 times a year to share practice, highlight opportunities and debate issues. The session dates will appear below.
*We define Artist Educators as practitioners who consider themselves practising artists who have an interest in education. Teachers who are not practicing artists may like to attend our other zoom events.
